I had a difficult time at age 14-15 due to bad treatment from classmates (all boys back then in 1965), but this was outweighed by a very rewarding time the next year in the Lower Sixth. My education at BGS enabled me to enter Oxford University and have a successful career in government computing.

We are thankful every single day for the places our children have at BGS - knowing how school life can be so very different, we will be forever grateful for the opportunities this school has given to our children. Happy to play a small part in the chance to offer this to others.

I popped into BGS last week: my first visit in 30 years. I was so impressed by what I saw. It’s one of the great schools in this country - and its commitment to widen access is incredibly important and something we all should be proud to support. The chance to have a great education is very precious

Assisted places were key to a diverse school community, which provided much opportunity. I owe the school for a fantastic start, here’s a little back by way of thanks.
